Rein In Sarcoma depends on hundreds of volunteers to help us carry out our mission. Whether you have a few hours a month, time each week, or just want to help at a one-time event, we welcome your help, talents, and commitment. Here, learn how to volunteer, how to log your hours and complete training —and meet some of our incredible volunteers!

Rein in Sarcoma depends on volunteers to make our mission a reality. Many volunteer opportunities can be done remotely.

 

Party in the Park Volunteers

The Party in the Park is Rein in Sarcoma’s signature event and we will be back at Como Park this year – July 28, 2025. Help us make this year’s event a great success. We are looking for many volunteers for the day of the event, including set up (beginning at 11:00 am), tear down (immediately following the event), and assisting with the activities.

Community Fundraising Volunteer

Volunteers will help solicit businesses to donate to Rein in Sarcoma through community giveback/engagement events, silent auction donations, and more. Restaurants/businesses host community giveback night, which donate a percentage of sales/profits, etc to a non-profit organization. Ask businesses for to donat to Party in the Park and Sunflower Soiree silent auctions.

Digital Marketer

The Digital Marketer will work with Rein in Sarcoma’s PR and Marketing Committee on a short term project as we develop best practices for Google Ad Grants. We are looking for support to provide an overview of Google Ad Grants, develop internal policies, and set up a campaign and Google Analytics.

*Experience with Google ads required

Finance Committee Member

We are looking for individuals with financial experience/interest to help support budgeting and financial planning for the Rein in Sarcoma (RIS). Committee members work on annual budget, compliance with Federal and State regulations, monitor inventments, etc.

RIS Education Booth Volunteer

Engage with visitors at community events, conferences, etc. by providing information, resources related to Rein in Sarcoma’s mission. Volunteers play a critical role in fostering awareness, inspiring interest, and building connections with attendees while representing the organization in a professional and approachable manner. Tasks include: set up education booth, engage with event attendees, answer questions about RIS, etc.

Patient and Family Support

We are looking for compassionate volunteers to help us better serve the needs of sarcoma patients and their loved ones. The Patient and Family Support: reaches out to sarcoma patients and their loved ones by providing peer-to-peer mentoring, organizing social gatherings for those affected by sarcoma, providing gift bags for newly diagnosed and relapsed sarcoma patients, and by providing informational notebooks about sarcoma with hospital resources for sarcoma patients.

We are in need of volunteers for our Fall Fundraiser: Sunflower Soiree on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis. Volunteer roles include: set-up, registration, silent auction, live auction, and more. Shifts available throughout the day (between 1:00-10:00 pm).
